Legend Fires North West Stages Rally
Welcome to a wet and windy Lancashire, but the rain doesn't stop the adrenaline-fueled tarmac rally! This is the first stop for the British Rally Championship 2024. I had the pleasure of attending the ceremonial start at Garstang on Friday and then onto the stages on Saturday.
This event is great for meeting people with the same passion, sharing stories, and building new friendships. I couldn't recommend it highly enough if you have never been to a Rally event.
I want to extend a huge thanks to the organisers, the competitors and especially the marshalls. The marshalls were helpful and pleasant, especially during the challanges of Saturday morning with the first loop getting cancelled due to issues across stages one to three.
Garstang High Street
This is an excellent part of the event, held on Friday night after scrutineering is completed, allowing the public to get nice and close to the rally cars and the drivers before the stages begin on Saturday. I enjoyed a walk around the high street, meeting the teams and chatting about their cars. The high street had a hussle and bussle atmosphere when new cars and crews arrived throughout the evening.
Below are some images I captured of the cars on Garstang high street.
Stage 8 - Crossgill 2
This was the middle stage of the afternoon on Saturday just east of Lancaster, over a distance of 10.18 km. For this stage I located myself on a fast approach to a square right. This location was great as you could see the cars coming from a distance as they got closer before getting on the brakes to take the corner and head away down the hill.
After this stage the results after are Car No. 1 - Chris Ingram & Alex Kihurani with a total time of 5:48.3 in the first place, followed by Car No. 5 - William Creighton & Liam Regan with a time of a total of 5:48.6 in second place & third place Car No. 4 - Meirion Evans & Jonathan Jackson with a total time of 5:53.
Below are the images of the top three cars from this stage.

Weekends Favourite Image
My favourite image from the North West Stages rally has to be of Car No. 63 - Roger Henderson & Tommi Henderson in Ford Fiesta Rally2 on crossgill. This is because a panning shot, at a short distance, with a wide lens is difficult to capture. With the car in focus and seeing the detail on the route the car has taken, makes this my favourite from this rally.
Below my favourite image is access to the full gallery from the Argyll Rally, please take a look and let me know your favourite image from the event.
